COSMIC PSYCHOS TO RE-ISSUE SEMINAL ALBUMS ‘BLOKES YOU CAN TRUST,’ ‘SELF TOTALLED’

Having been out-of-print for a couple of decades, the Cosmic Psychos have dug up some old masters, given them a spit and polish, and are ready to release TWO absolute classics on coloured vinyl this November.

If you're up for a smack of nostalgia this Christmas, it might be a mighty fine time to requaint yourself with some of the 'Psychos' finest work to date. Featuring the original line-up of Ross Knight, Robbie Watts and Bill Walsh, 'Blokes You Can Trust' and 'Self Totalled'  lay the foundations for many of today's young pub rock upstarts, and even the grunge scene, globally

Butch Vig (producer of Nirvana's Nevermind) agrees, “I think the Cosmic Psychos were a band that was highly influential on the Seattle so called grunge scene. I know that Kurt and Nirvana were fans, they played shows with Pearl Jam. Even though the Cosmic Psychos never had the commercial impact or success that those bands had, they were still a major influence on them, and I think a lot of it had to do with the spirit and the sound of their music.

Blokes You Can Trust was released almost THIRTY years ago (CHRIST!) and features hit singles Back At School, Dead Roo and Hooray F**k! and is famously the first record Butch Vig produced after working on Nirvana's Nevermind

Self Totalled followed shortly afterwards and was recorded at Birdland in St Kilda with Lindsay Gravina. It's a far more Melbourne-centric release, featuring The Man Who Drank Too Much, Thank Your Mother For The Rabbits and the relatively risqué Whip Me.
