SWAINE DELGADO SHARES NEW EP ‘BRUSHED’

Today, Perth artist Swaine Delgado shares his new EP Brushed, out via Future Classic. An effortlessly cool and charming collection of laid-back pop jams, the EP showcases the artist's composed delivery and penchant for fun, breezy melodies. Following 2020's 'Boulevard and January's 'Dance No More', the EP arrives alongside the lead single 'F Me Up', perfectly encapsulating the buoyant, floating quality that carries throughout the record.

As the latest step in his artistic development, Swaine shares; 'Brushed for me represents a record of personal and musical growth. This EP really helped me find myself as an artist and getting more established and comfortable with my sound. I wrote a couple songs (Boulevard, Do To Me) before I went to LA for the Future Classic / Dropbox residency but the EP only really started taking shape when I was there. It was the first time making anything outside of a tiny bedroom studio by myself so it was really inspiring getting out and working with incredible artists. Brushed really helped me develop as an artist, I learnt so much writing, producing and mixing the EP it truly elevated my song writing for future projects'.

The body of work truly succeeds in highlighting this, culminating in a remarkably cohesive collection of tracks which showcase Swaine's catchy yet restrained pop songwriting.

Swaine Delgado is the guilty pleasure creation of Preston Swaine, a self-taught musician from the suburbs of Perth, Australia. After quitting his day job and moving to Sydney to pursue music full time - away from the strings of his hometown - Swaine Delgado was born. In a new space, Preston dove freely into the genres he'd only ever listened to in his headphones, resulting in sounds that are warm and inviting, exploring hip hop beats, indie guitar tones and pop melodies.

In 2018, Swaine Delgado released his first project Run Boy, Run, while follow up singles 'Fading' and 'Reason' caught the attention of Spotify curators resulting in additions to editorial playlists including All New Indie and Evening Indie. The singles piqued the attention of tastemakers globally, leading to praise from key outlets including Majestic Casual and Kitsuné Musique. In 2019, Swaine was one of several independent artists chosen for a two-week creative residency at Future Classic and Dropbox’s Los Angeles studio, resulting in several tracks including last year's breakout single ‘Boulevard’. Following praise from NME and a remix from acclaimed producer RAC, time has allowed Swaine to fine tune his sound and to collaborate with others, and following January's 'Dance No More', Swaine is excited to unveil his latest EP project Brushed.
